Purpose

High-frequency communication over power lines (HF communication over overhead lines) is a generally accepted method of organizing communication in power systems for the transmission of voice and digital information. HF communication over overhead lines has proven itself to be a reliable, versatile and economical type of communication between power systems.

The blocking device is one of the key components of the HF communication (PLC) system, which is used for the needs of power plants and substations: for organizing voice communications (telephone and dispatch communications), data transmission (APCS, telemechanics, ASKUE), organizing the operation of relay protection and PA systems (transmission of discrete commands for acceleration and blocking of protections, transmission of the current signal DFZL).

Blocking devices can be manufactured with blocking resistance from 400 ohms to 1000 ohms.

Other jamming frequency ranges can be selected when ordering equipment.

Main functions

The linear blocking device is intended for use in the high-frequency processing of overhead lines (OL) to reduce the shunting effect of equipment, substation buses and branches on the high-frequency signal linear path, as well as to ensure effective high-frequency signal blocking in the stopband.

The ULZ is a plug filter that is included in the cut of the phase wire of a high-voltage power line to prevent high-frequency signal losses.

Linear blocking device (ULZ), which includes:

  • - the reactor of the blocking device, which is an inductor designed to pass a current of industrial frequency of 50 Hz, flowing through the phase wires;
  •  - universal tuning device (UNU), determines the nominal frequency band of the barrier;
     - non-linear overvoltage limiter (OPN) or valve single-phase arrester (RVO), connected in parallel with RZ and LUN and used to protect the HF barrier device from overvoltages.

ULZ is a dry-type, air-cooled barrier device with a variety of installation options and the ability to withstand high short-circuit currents.

Blocking devices of the ULZ series are manufactured in version U1 atmosphere type II according to GOST 15150 for operation in climatic conditions of a temperate climate of category 1 at an operating ambient temperature of minus 50 to plus 50 °C and an average annual relative humidity of 75% at a temperature of 15 °C.

Fiberglass is used as a dielectric for the manufacture of the supporting frame of the high-frequency barrier device. To protect fiberglass from atmospheric influences, the frame of the ULZ is covered with paint.

When ordering a blocking device, it is necessary to specify the operating frequency range, inductance and operating current.

The main consumers of ULZ are energy industry enterprises that operate substations with a voltage of 35 to 750 kV three-phase alternating voltage. The design of the ULZ allows it to be manufactured in the shortest possible time in compliance with high quality standards.

Barrier devices are designed for outdoor use, and also have a reliable, maintenance-free open type design.
